Trump raided the Georgia election office, breaking the chain of custody of the voter records in a state where he TRIED to cheat and they stopped him, and he lost in 2020. HE DID THAT TODAY, JANUARY 29th 2026

While we're all arguing that the USA is murdering people in the streets, he's letting us know what that his threats at Davos weren't empty rhetoric.

If you live in a state that didn't go Trump in 2020, tell your family that you love them one last time. They're coming.

And now they’re threatening to use ICE to suppress the vote in blue districts. This reformed Libertarian attended his first Democratic Committee Meeting last night and found out that Democrats are closing the registration numbers gap with local Republicans and independents have expanded markedly. The GOP is dying.

Everybody here saw this coming a mile away. Protesting in Boston today, hopefully Trump’s agitators are properly out numbered.

We’ve been pretty insular and off electronics while building the cabin, but I should probably retrieve my Firefly DVDs…

It’s an interesting question. I’m better focused on my physical health than I was when I was working. We walk morning and evening and try to focus on the beauty in the natural world.  Having moved, I’m memorizing new routes trying not to use gps etc… building our cabin is physically, intellectually, and even emotionally challenging. I’m forcing myself to meet new people and make new connections. I’m reading instead of watching tv in the evening. We’ll see if it all holds back dementia. I’m down 25 pounds from June when this adventure got real. I guess I’d like to live long enough to choose when to get on the ice flow, but choice and aging are at odds with each other. Healthcare seems to be on its way out so maintenance of health is critical but unsupported.

Clod: We’ll be entering from the right. The slope will be cut to get back to the natural slope after we finish construction so there won’t be a front yard.

Glatt: we’re going steel. I did it myself 30 years ago and am not interested in going through that again, so we have an Amish crew coming in a couple weeks.

Still grinding away here. The bucket lift is back on site for the roof. I’m having fun with it.

It seems that after 10 years MAGA suspects that President Cankles is a pedo. Orange Man may even be bad.

Typically, I choose to camp in nature, not in built up areas.  And campgrounds tend to be near rivers away from cities.

I'd likely be dead.  Drowned in my sleeping bag in a zipped up tent.

We all need to assess risk differently now. (Of course I have just entered my 5th week living in a tent. So maybe my risk tolerance is a little off.)

I met the head of our river association at a local Juneteenth celebration. He is getting some training in slowing the flow of water in tributaries by dropping trees in the feeder streams. Some guys from Vermont are doing the training. Rain events are getting more intense here and this valley needs to be “hardened” against them. Seems like a stupid time to double down on fossil fuels but honestly we are a shitty shortsighted people.

The excavator was just short of landing the beam so I got to take the bucket up and winch in both ends. (Yikes)

Her doc is way too conservative if she’s going to maintain bone mass. In her humble opinion.

That’s freaking awesome. Foreign languages were always a weak point in my schooling. I really wish I had a little Spanish or French. I was trying to chat with a Mexican guy at my nephew’s concert. We both suck. But we tried.
