Nothing teaches like experience.
Granted the same experience may be interpreted differently by different folks.
If I pick up a black snake and it bites me, I might say I have to be careful handling black snakes.
Or I might say black snakes are assholes not to be trusted, and should be exterminated.
Either way I definitely learned black snakes bite and will pass that on to youth who listen.
Respect your elders they carry the wisdom of our forbearers...
