Did you ever manage to get spliced?
Niagara Falls plans nixed by Covid

We did, thanks! You are kind for asking. We joined in holy matrimony and government-approved financial partnership last Spring.
We rented an AirBNB in Virginia Beach, beachfront big enough to gather 16 family members of four generations. It was a beautiful setting, and a lovely way for everyone to get together and agree that 17 years together was long enough for us to work out we should be permanent.
What was great was that both our mothers were on hand, 86 and 88 years old. Olds don't travel well so some difficult travel decisions had to be made. (I shamefully hinted at this in a thread you might not read.)
There was catering, and a cupcake van visited, and her daughter's wife made a 70s playlist, and we drank Champagne and played parlor-type games into the night. Everyone bonded and there was nary a negative thing to be said the whole time.

Story time tho
Five minutes before the ceremony was to start, a property manager called to say with great annoyment that we were having a "public event" and weren't allowed. It turned out they had sent a maintenance person to spy on us, supposedly to change out the fuel in the fire pit. I asked her what she meant by "public event". "A wedding," she said. "We know you have caterers, we know you set up decorations and moved the tables around."
"Nope it's second vows," I lied. "And it's not public, only for 16 family members." "Well you have four vendors!" "Yes, catering hair makeup and photography. two of them will be gone in 15 minutes."
We hung up without saying it would be alright. And then went through with it. Aftewards Jackie told me... she cleared the whole thing with them before booking.
The rental was $12,000 for four days. Well whadya gonna do. I gave it two stars on AirBNB and told the whole story, with a headline saying THEY SPIED ON US. A review like that will fuck up their shit for six months. They earned it.
