“Future Dictates of Fashion”

Strand Magazine 1893  “Future Dictates of Fashion”   W. Cade Gall

Gall wrote in 1893 an extensive prediction of fashion for the next 100 years.
He was scoffed and laughed at for claiming he could predict the future.
His retort was he wasn’t fortune teller or soothsayer, no crystal ball or Tea Leaves.
He said a man he knows(Q?) found a book (bound in Red Moroccan) published in 1993.
( Cue Rod Sirling) You are about to enter another dimension. A dimension not only of....
The book covers fashion back 100 years. So his article is actually fashion history viewed from the future.
It also has some other history notes, like everyone gave up tobacco in 1973,

Re: “Future Dictates of Fashion”

How bourgeois, almost an insult.  An enlightened fashion designer would have created a class act by ensuring all the adornments had googly eyes.
