US Census Rabbit hole

Don't know where to put this so here it be.. I ran across a pdf of a US Census "working paper 056".
It's very long and detailed covering race from 1790 to 1990 in 4 regions, 9 sections, and by states.
For Blacks they recorded free and slaves from 1790 to 1860.
There was a ton of info so I sifted out what I found interesting. I grabbed the numbers for every 50 years.
The slave distribution in different areas.
How the census breaks down regions like the Northeast they add New England and Mid-Atlantic.
I didn't know mid Atlantic is NY, NJ, and PA, also the South starts about a dozen miles from me.
All and all this entertained me for more hours than I'm embarrassed to admit.
I was also surprised when google told me the price of an average slave in 1790 and 1860.
I thought it would be higher.
They list white, black, native, asian, hispanic and near 10 million other. What the hell is other?
People that refuse to answer or maybe mongrels?
These are the pieces I found interesting, your interest may vary.
I'm also surprised I hadn't posted this sooner as I put this together a week ago.
Or maybe I did and can't find it...  rolling eyes, strumming lips with forefinger.
