In Northern California everyone remembers that Oroville Dam was very much in jeopardy four years ago.
Heavy rains brought the reservoir to 101% of capacity and the emergency spillway was needed for the first time in the projects history.
It was scary. Amazing to see it now, but a common sight all over the west this year.

OK I found it, "Ammolite is the trade name given to the nacreous layer of the shell of ammonite fossils.
