We just bought a house in Viroqua Wi. It's a cute little house, a place to spend our golden years.

I could search it, but your explanation of the strange name Viroqua would be better.

Apparently it used to be called Farwell, so it seems an extremely appropriate place for Fargon to move to....

Thank You Monster.

Fargon, that's a sweet looking house. A perfect place to spend your golden years. All on one level and those extra bedrooms give you a lot of space for your stuff. Well done!

TY Sir. We dropped off the earnest check today. we are very happy. The place we are living in now is a crappy little apartment with a million dollar view.
The new house is awesome. It was completely rebuilt and all new appliances. in 2025 the Man that lived there for years died, and the new owners completely rebuilt the place. It still needs a garage and patio cover and a door from the small bedroom to the patio. Other than needing a stackable washer & dryer we are golden.

A concrete pad on the side is for what? It does not have a driveway so it is not for parking. The roofs make it almost impossible to add a porch or garage. There is not door to make it an outdoor patio. What is that for?
And does it have a deep enough foundation to protect from underground frost damage?

It has lasted for 105 years, I'm not too worried.

And then the question. "A concrete pad on the side is for what?" Curious why it is there. Was it an extension of the foundation intended to be another part of the house? Was it originally intended to be a garage?
That was a nicely redone for a 105 year house. Looks like they refinished everything from the roof down.

It's a patio.

Confusing. Since there is no adjacent doorway. No sidewalk to get to it from a doorway. No overhead lights. Not even a connection for a gas grill. Looks like it was intended for something else.

It's a work in progress.

Something like that would eat at me. I would be constantly looking for a good use. For example, I saw tracks that could be a driveway into a garage. But an existing roof might not make that practicable. And, of course, it is Wisconsin. So there must be a door. So that nobody need go outside.
Maybe an open air spot for skinning deer? A basketball court? A storage shed for landscaping tools? A Man Cave?

It seems to be eating at you a little bit already. LOL.
The possibilities are endless though. It's a clean slate. Nothing but opportunity. I'd probably park a project car back there. It's a nice level surface for jack stands. But a patio would be more civilized.

The window in the small bedroom is becoming a door, and that room is becoming a pantry. With a refrigerator, and deep freezer. Patio access is made.

When is the jalopy rebuilding party?

Soon.

Folks in Wisconsin will have a party in any weather?

Yup.
