Words that do not live up to their promise

Mutton dressed as lamb
Wolves in sheep's clothing

(what's the obsession with sheep here?)

anyhoo...

Bucolic - sound like a cross between bubonic and colic very unpleasant -rather than relating to pleasant country life
Bellicose - Sounds like a plump happy jolly person rather than something aggressive
