The Universe is watching

I absolutely hate crocheted stuff.  especially stupid ornamental dust-gathering thingies.

My administrative boss retired earlier this year, and for christmas gifted me a crocheted plant in a pot.  She explained it was something she was taking up in retirement.  So I put it on the shelf in the office.  Yesterday, i donated it to a thrift store.  Today I came in to work after a week working away from the office at a training ....to find some lavender woven with ribbon into a... pointy thing sat on my keyboard waiting for me.

My former admin boss did message to say she'd had coffee with one of my current project bosses this week.  But ... said current project boss is an avid gardener.
aaaargh.... gotta figure out who made the monstrosity so I know how long it will/can be before it magically disappears..... it's in my favorite colors (as was the crocheted thing), so I'm leaning towards retired boss, but.... aaaaargh

I'm sorry folks, I hate your handicrafts.  To be fair I hate some of mine too, so I get wanting to give them away but......

Re: The Universe is watching

I don't mind crocheted potted plants if they replace real potted plants, which I hate more.

Re: The Universe is watching

I have clearly led a much more sheltered life than I believed. Crocheted potted plants? I had no idea what you were talking about, but, arguably thankfully, seems Google did. I was and still am left wondering 'Why?'. OK, maintenance-free, colourful, plant-looking, woolly objects may not represent an imminent danger to humankind, although, if their construction was commonplace in Iran, Trump would most certainly have included their extinction as one of his military objectives.  Where exactly did they come from? Was Covid central to their development and acceptance as an insular, innocent passtime? Did the sheep have a say in all this? Is their construction so intensely demanding of attention that it can cause democrats to forget to vote? There seems more to this than initially meets the eye!

Hi Monster.
I'm glad to be back, although it's going to take me a while to get back up to speed.
Looking forward to seeing you around the place
