Wedding Vows

I got volunteered to write our vows.  I'm plagiarizing the first paragraph from a website, just changing the word Faith to Trust, cuz neither of us are religious types....

But here's the framework.... I'm stuck on what leads into the line about teamwork (a tenacious D reference)  and she may edit that part out anyway....

and the last line is from 'Can't Help Falling in Love' which is 'our song' that we'll dance to, etc...

I think I need a little closer after that maybe.
Anyway:

"I take you to be my partner for life,
I promise above all else to live in truth with you
And to communicate fully and fearlessly,
I give you my hand and my heart
As a sanctuary of warmth and peace
And pledge my love, devotion, trust and honor
As I join my life to yours."

I will always love the person you are
I will see past emotion and ego to the real you
In dark times and light, bright skies and night
As we walk together into the future
We will remain an anchor for each other
In this eternal present moment

 My strengths and yours combined
We are stronger together than apart
_____….something something
That’s fucken Teamwork!

 So, Darling, take my hand
And take my whole life, too.

 ...something something….

You could work something in there about the triumph of hope over experience...

Maybe instead of filling in the something-somethings, you could tighten what you have:

So, Darling, take my hand
And take my whole life, too.
We are stronger together than apart
That’s fucken Teamwork!

I mean, if you're going to try to slip in a D reference, you gotta make it the closer.

Re: Wedding Vows

You could adapt this from an Apache wedding blessing

Now you will feel no rain,
for each of you will be shelter for the other.
Now you will feel no cold,
for each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there will be no loneliness,
for each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two persons,
but there is only one life before you.

That's really good. Maybe have Franklin (officiant) read that as an intro....

Good good....

Re: Wedding Vows

I'm zeroing in on a finished rendition... Franklin will come over and do a practice run with us Thursday after work.  We'll have the tents and P. A. system up on weds.

I'm using that blessing as the closer.

Also, Amanda had her hair and makeup trial. She cleans up purty good.

Re: Wedding Vows

Is that three tents or two tents and a truck?
Being a simple child I can't read the fancy engraving on the heart, is that JH combined & ASP?
But I do like the wood & brass pipe and three copper matches.
Anyway is was a smart move for both of you, and if you fight fair you'll live happily ever after.

Three tents.  And that's a hammer, lol.  You'll see that box during the ceremony.

Re: Wedding Vows

Yeah, I know, to hammer the three copper matches into the three holes in the heart with the strange ... uh, make that fancy font engraving.

It was a lovely ceremony! Special thanks to LJ's sister, who picked us up and carried us around the reception for a bit so we could see everything.
