The Chinese are picking up an easy win here. While we toss missiles around and arm various sketchy countries, these guys pull folks into their sphere by making life better for people. These same guys who are murdering the hell out of folks inside their borders but only have one overseas military base.

In the past four years, China has now surpassed America as the most influential nation in Africa. Respect for America has gone to new lows in the past four years. It is hard to build respect. Contempt can occur quickly with long term adverse effects.
US, that once had a 90% approval rating in Turkey, dropped to 10% in George Jr's tenure. Respect for America all over the world have suffered immensely. And since extremism is now so widespread, many nations are having second thoughts about making long term commitments with America. Iran has been the glaring example that have caused so many nations to think twice.
And just another reason why China found it so easy to obtain significant influence in Africa. Even Europe has now signed onto the Silk Road. China has now replaced the US as Europeans biggest trading partner. I believe this occurred last year.

China has been pumping money into African infrastructure building roads, schools and factories to subcontract some of that crap for walmart. They also pay top dollar for ivory, what's not to like.

Only part of the large game plan called a "Silk Road". And where does so much money come from? The entire annual output of the Indian economy was only $2 trillion dollars. Due to extremists, America spent $3 trillion on a disaster called Mission Accomplished. Now we pay that back to the Chinese with interest. Chinese have plenty of money to build infrastructure (paid for by US taxpayers) because so many Americans were so naive as to believe Saddam had WMDs.
Extremists said he did. That proves it must be true. Time to pay the resulting penalties for letting extremists brainwash us again. Deja Vue Nam.
