Re: ADK

Clarence Thomas' douche baggery came to the fore this week. He hasn't been reporting his rich guy junkets. We actually stayed in a yurt across from Harlan Crow's ADK property on Upper St Regis a decade and change ago. It was an isolated gorgeous place but wasn't a quiet place to hang out due to the power boats, kinda what you expect from the obscenely wealthy.

What!  You don't believe ol' Clarence when he says he prefers parking his RV in Walmart parking lots?
Hang with the common folk, you know.

Yeah, we should be taking better care of her.

Re: ADK

We did the sill and got to work on the frame.

Setting the main beam took some mental horsepower and some diesel horsepower, no horses were injured in this activity.

Re: ADK

We completed the frame except for blockers.

We're headed back up to lay the subfloor next weekend. We helped run water and build the septic system. I received a part-time job offer in construction for retirement, so I've got that going for me.

I was impressed when you built the last house, and I'll continue to be impressed as you build this one. Keep us updated!

Wow!  That site looks spectacular!

Re: ADK

Thanks guys! The site is pretty amazing. We have some APA (Adirondack Park Agency) restrictions but nothing that isn't a good idea like distance from the river and responsible forestry. We faced delays due to the hurricanes and related road damage but things are under way!

Re: ADK

Magical.  That's awesome.  You two have a purpose right now, and that's a wonderful thing.

And you have learned so much since you built the last one.  11 days is super impressive.  The Styrofoam insulated forms are an amazing invention.
