Re: Puzzles

The pattern was XX-XX XX and appeared to be about a person.  Not a whole lot of options that I know of.

Re: Puzzles

Yeah. My brain doesn't work in that direction.  If you told me who it was, I'd be like "of course!"  But I have no idea XX-XX XX   beats me

Re: Puzzles

Another hint is that I got it in two, though there are three words there.
Also:
---
The person is in music.
---
Cello
---
Anyway, I may have to move on to a clone page, since the original redactle seems to have gone down today, and the developer has been incommunicado for months.

Definitely not going to beat this record.

Another two-letter one severely limiting the playing field.

Today's wordle is a hard one.  Though, I don't know.  Maybe mentioning that makes it easier.

Re: Puzzles

The NYT bought wordle in January for "low seven figures".
The best start words are = SLATE, CRANE, TRACE.
Of the top 30 start words the most popular but least efficient is = ADIEU.
1.7% of SLATE starters failed.    3.6% of ADIEU starters failed.

The day after Mothers Day the answer was FETUS,but the leaked SCOTUS report caused the answer to be changed on the fly. People who didn't refresh their browser still saw FETUS.
JAZZY = 5.8 turns
JOKER = 5.69 turns
NANNY = 5.68 turns
JUDGE = 5.7 turns
RIPER = 5.52 turns

Tay-wiki has been a favorite of mine for years, but I lost it from my favorites when my last computer crashed.
Some brain fart made me not even know it.
Now I have a lot of catching up to do.
Thanks Bruce.
A step or three of surfing on led me to this piece of weirdness.
