    I read National Geographic laid off the last of their staff writers, that's sad. 
    It was a great magazine bringing far off exotic places into your home.
    Plus boobs to boys all across America.
    But time marches on... you can quote me on that... and the net takes you anywhere.
    I've got NG magazines for 40+ years starting in the 1940s, that even the trashmen would rather no see.

    I'm not sure the Dubai housing project is "scenic."
    I looked for more info about it, but out of scores of pics of wild, outlandish, expensive places there, not one more appeared. Not one.
    There were some notes about labor (slave) conditions in the country.
    I'm sure there are things to get used to in the Faroes, but I'll take it anyway,

    The housing blocks in Dubai and Paris have some similarities.
    One thing they have in common is that half-hour+ searches for both produce no corroborating evidence of their existence.

    Thanks, Anon, the Dubai places do indeed seem to exist, if only partially in an artist's mind. Or a computer's.
    To call them "villas" may be a bit of a stretch.

    My hat is off to you. I just couldn't find those pics for some reason.
    I guess that is triangle-ville. Compare to Salt Lake City.
    The rooves look like white gunite or something similar.

    Sułoszowa, Poland is pretty remarkable.  The google maps satellite view shows relatively light traffic on that street during broad daylight.  I was expecting bumper to bumper traffic and no way to ever get out of your driveway.
