Nukes are only 4.3% of the global picture, but the US has 31% of that. France went all in early on and did in smart. They settled on a design and built them all the same instead of making changes to every new plant built like the US did. That made ours a order of magnitude more expensive. Even so they were a good investment. But a campaign of teeth gnashing, wailing, and lies have freaked the public so they are being phased out.
