Most of these apples I'd never heard of. Maybe some are regional, or seasonal, or I don't shop enough.

What about all the others at to top of the list, have you heard of them, have a place you can buy them?

Of the "superb" apples, I've seen Honeycrisp trees for sale. You can buy old-timey apple trees but I haven't eaten fruit from many of them. It's all about texture for me so Fuji is also my go to.

I'm partial to the Stayman Winesap, got a little tang to it.
I wonder how much difference there is in the same apple grown in different soils?
Probably an apple connie-sewer can note a difference but what about Joe Average.
