Japan built the Yamato in secret during 1940 as it was in violation of the treaty they had signed.
Swore workmen to secrecy, shielded the site with tarps, kept anyone not involved away.
Nine 18 inch guns in three turrets, each being 70 ft long, each weighing 163 tons and after 150 to 250 rounds the barrel is shot no pun intended but here we are.

I opened this tab, and at first I thought I was looking at some elaborate ice cream floats with straws and spoons sticking out.

Boats, floats, eighteen inch guns, it's an easy mistake to make.

Tarps?
Big tarps.

A wall of tarps to hide it from the land side. The height would depend on the height of viewpoints.
They were not trying to hide the fact they were building a ship, just than it was a treaty violation.

The most important, not-ever-to-be replaced part would bounce off into the murk.

Wisdom.  How many times in their lives did they drop something before coming up with that?

If they're really smart they stole the idea from somebody who learned the hard way.

I keep an umbrella on the ledge of the rear window of the car.  Now if I get a boat, I need to keep one somewhere onboard.

Momdigr has two (2) compact umbrellas in her car.

Why would you need two?!

Went here after the link above:

Didn't know Denmark was an island.
Surprised to find USCG running tug under Russian flag.
How big a ship can you tug with a 35 foot boat?

This must be one of if not the first instance of towing and launching a boat with a car...

The U-27 looks kinda like NCC-1701.

They built that sucker up a river that has a bridge to low to let it out.
So ol' Elon is trying to talk them into removing it.  Well talk and probably some other stuff.

I bet he would be torn up if he knew I am getting a little tired of him.

Bezoz.  Not Musk.

And the shipyard that built the boat knew what it was doing.  The historic old iron bridge can be partially taken apart and bolted back together.  I find it highly unlikely that a shipyard located upstream from a bridge like that wouldn't have lots of practice delivering ships and getting paid.

Whoops, sorry.
Sometimes it is hard to tell them apart.
It reminded me of an old cartoon with a boat built in a basement.
