I've never seen a blossom like that.  It looks tropical to me, but the rest of the picture looks cold and raw.

It’s a fuchsia. Not native to here but well feral. And it’s not that cold here, around 52F.

We had huge Fuchsia bushes in the garden of the house I grew up in, My best friend and I used to pull off the flowers and bite the bottom off the little bell to taste the nectar. 

Don't think Dad was impressed with that

Dad was always a dab hand at cultivating Fuchsias, a trait which I have not inherited.
He still keeps a handful going and this one occupies one of the less pristine areas of our back garden.
