The two crosses are equal to each other not equal to the original... but you knew that, just Karen insurance.
I'll post a solution in a day or so but if you can't wait you can find a solution online.

Have the wordle people discussed their secret sauce? Do they pick words randomly, or do they try to fuck with people by mixing it up with words like JAZZY

I think it's just common words I haven't seen any plurals or ed/ing. They do double letters. I've been using "aloud" as my starter word which identified 0 letters yesterday and 4 today. So yesterday was a 5 attempts and today was 2.

I have a fairly solid 4 average

I've gotten a few in 2 on Word Master, but it's been pretty much luck

FWIW. Will Shortz is surprisingly not the head honcho at the NYT puzzle department.
He somehow managed to get Sudoku rights and has made beaucoup bucks with it.
There would be no reason to buy Wordle if it was not destined to disappear ( for me anyway) behind the paywall.
