Seafood can be tricky to cook mainly because it cooks so quickly and has mostly delicate flavors easy to ruin.
Sometimes you have to look it in the eyes and show you're the chef.

I can't really say that scallops aren't food because there must be some marine predator that likes 'em.
It is just that they are not human food.

They are quite delicious, so much so that money grubbing scalawags have been taking things like skates , sharks, and stingrays to punch round pieces and pass them off as Scallops. In 2019, 21% of the Scallops were fake. The only retailer with labs that test for authenticity is Costco. Everyone else just make the supplier pinky swear they're real.
