Not familiar with it, but I picture baked beans slopped over toast.

Beans and toast are part of an English breakfast, but not "on" I think. Beans, tomatoes and mushrooms are not morning food.
However, good baked beans (with the sauce) on almost any good toast are nice after noon. Fork or spoon, of course.

so funny. that's what I had for lunch on Weds and Thurs last week. Comfort food.
It's Heinz Beanz -they're in a mild tomato sauce- or a cheap knock-off but Heinz is generally the only brand you can get here. (and it's bloody expensive). On toast
I sprinkle grated/shredded cheese on and fresh ground black pepper if I'm at home (I wasn't -but seriously contemplated taking my grinder to work with me.
When we first emigrated, Banana Lady used to bring suitcases full of Heinz baked beans (no clothes) when she came to visit,.and she often had tale of Customs saying "Heinz Beans, is it?" when she declared food

... I searched for an image ...but all had too high a beans to toast ratio for my taste, and also used pre-sliced "plastic" bread for the toast whereas I like to used chunky slices hand-carved from a real bakery kind of loaf of bread.
Americans do not do bread well. sigh.

This from the native of a country that eats massive cupcakes, donuts, and sugary pastries for breakfast (calling them "muffins" does not make them healthy)

A Full English -whilst not necessarily "healthy"- at least covers the food groups and doesn't give you a sugar high

(blueberries in a breakfast muffin do not count as a serving of fruit/veg.)

Thanks for the insight! The Mex version seems tastier, but I get the comfort food angle.
As far as American bread goes, we're still recovering from industrialization. You can get decent scaled up breads from Home - Heidelberg Bread That's the brand we get at Wegmans. When we're up North where we belong, these folks are just down the road. Dogwood Bread Company - HOME Their Friday pizza is not to be missed but you really need to call Friday morning if you want to reserve one.

Having baked beans, garlic sausage and cornbread this evening. Makes my mouth water typing that. Green salad with and fudge brownies after.
