WASHINGTON (AP) — George W. Bush says the Republican Party he served as president has become “isolationist, protectionist and, to a certain extent, nativist” and says he’s especially concerned about anti-immigration rhetoric.“It’s a beautiful country we have and yet it’s not beautiful when we condemn, call people names and scare people about immigration,” Bush told NBC’s “Today” show on Tuesday.Bush, who was in New York to preside over a naturalization ceremony, said his new book, “Out of Many, One: Portraits of America’s Immigrants,” aims to ”elevate the discourse.”The former president did not mention Donald Trump, who aggressively curbed both legal and illegal immigration during his tenure and sought to build a “big, beautiful wall” at the southwest border with Mexico to keep out migrants. Trump, a fellow Republican, disparaged the migrants as invaders and “illegal aliens” and, as a candidate, referred to Mexicans as “rapists.”

But Trump has dominated the Republican Party, even out of office. Hard-right House Republicans last week discussed forming an America First Caucus

I was never a fan of Bush 43, but he's not wrong.  Broken clocks, etc.

Evidently a lot of Trumps army are not happy with the country or their lot in life, and are looking for someone to blame rather than accept it's their fault for letting the government be taken over by big buck's lobbies.

I was not a fan of G W Bush either.  But I did not ever doubt is patriotism or his heart, though he did seem like a bit of a dope from time to time.  I felt he was the dog being wagged by Cheney the tail in many cases.  His heart is on display now and though it surprised me when I first felt it, and it's still a little surprising, while 45 was in office, I felt downright nostalgic for the good old days of the grand old party.  I've mellowed on GWB, and he's mellowed too.  It feels pretty good.

I feel like 43 would be a great neighbor. You just don't want him leading a country.

Re: Bush Jr expresses dismay at the "America First Caucus".

We know that the most corrupt people are extremists.  That was obvious.  Adults who still think like children  Also obvious due to routine use of profanity as a replacement for logic.  One example: they claim voting fraud without any evidence.  Only a child would do / believe that.  The Federal judge (appointed by Trump) then asked Giuliani, "Are you an imbecile?"

It continues.  One county in PA has been cited for [ulr= https://www.azmirror.com/2021/05/21/wake-technology-services-audited-a-pennsylvania-election-as-part-of-the-stopthesteal-movement/] decertification of their voting system:.   A county that voted for Trump seven to one.  A company called Wake TSI (located in this PA county) has been preaching the Trump Big Lie.  So they were hired to review voting in Fulton County.  And also in Maricopa County in AZ.

(Since then, the company president is reported to have taken down his FaceBook account that was full of pro-Trump lies.)

As usual, the problem is people with 'least intelligence' (extremists).  Had Fulton country be dominated by moderates, then "imbeciles' would not be making decisions.

Wny do right wing extremists call all others leftists?  Otherwise they must admit that patriotic Americans are moderates.  Extremists cannot afford to admit that moderates exist.  Otherwise they must  admit who really are patriots.   Extremist make accusations that are baseless. Since they are not preaching to patriots - moderates.  They are preaching to the same type people who brought Hitler to power.   Anti-Americans Nazis, et al go to Fox News to be ordered what to believe.  Nazis, doing what children do, only believe what they are ordered to believe (ie the Big Lie).

Same anti-Americans also encourage people to not be vaccinated.  Since a head on a penis is more intelligent than a head between shoulders.  Emotions replace intelligent thought - when one is an "imbecile".

Good people call out, quite bluntly using honesty,  the most anti-Americans for what they are.  Extremists.  People who are easily brainwashed.  Even believe global warming does not exist since Fox News, a Senator from OK (who has no science education), etc ordered them what believe it.  Extremists do not think for themselves.  So extremists need everything stated in a soundbite - a less than 140 character Tweet.  Reality takes too many paragraphs.

What county in PA is the most likely suspect for voter fraud?  One that voted seven to one for Trump.  Located in what is called the Appalachia of Pennsylvania.  Intelligence level in Fulton County is, well, did those extremists also do to Fulton County water what they did to water in Flint Michigan?

A Trump appointed judge asked a damning question that so many should have to answer.  "Are you an imbecile?"  How many are such imbeciles as to even believe Saddam had WMDs.  And did not bother to learn from their mistake.  Did not bother to realize their information sources are 'baseless'.

This explains why Tioga County was so quick to refuse Mastriano's pretend audit. It was already known that the machines would have to be decertified. Nobody wants that bill. PA ran a clean election but here we are faking doubt even as the January Putsch is being prosecuted.
