They stretch a lot. they have to to stretch over your shoes and then stay on. They are easy to pop on and off. There was a clickable link somewhere to check shoe sizes.-mine are small/medium. They would fit on my hiking boots too if I needed them to. I don't keep them on my shoes. I take them off to drive to coffee afterwards, for example ;) Except for last week when I forgot :D

also... if you have a porch that isn't snowy, the noise they make would probably alert you.

I am amused by the concept that entering the house is a quick process in winter :D

And crack. Also made with crack. Delicious, and addictive as hell. Diabetic me ate a whole package of them. Just 2 0z, but 37 grams carbohydrates.

I got an appliance for Twil for Christmas this year.

I know how stupidly hazardous this category of "gifts" can be #peleton. But, it wasn't a surprise, I asked in advance and she said she'd like it. OK, go.

It's a pellet ice maker and we freaking love it. It the GE Profile Opal 2.0.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Fits on the countertop, fills with detachable reservoir, side, NOT BACK OR TOP, mounted reservoir, useful, delicious (weird word for ice, I know) ice, all day, all night. Makes a ton of ice, it's never empty and we both use it all the time.

We have not had a summer with it though, nor a dinner party... Did have nine people over for a birthday party.... Plenty of ice.

The clear hopper it keeps the ice in until you use it isn't insulated but the balls don't melt?
Cool but no. I refuse to have kitchen appliances without buttons, knobs, touch screen, some kind of controls.
I don't want the NSA, Mossad, or Putin hacking my kitchen.

The hopper IS insulated, as in double walled, like your double pane windows. The ice DOES melt, for example, when I come home, the topmost part has a bit of a glistening crust to it. I crack that down and mix it in and serve it up. But that's when it's been sitting for ten hours. There's a optical sensor I reckon that detects the level of the ice at the point where it dumps into the hopper. That back wall fills up first and highest, left alone, that part melts the most. When we're using it heavily, I try to use the little plastic scoop to move the bulk of the ice forward towards the handle where it is both easier to get to with the scoop and the most out of the way for the new ice to come into the hopper.

Also, it does have controls, power, light high low off, clean. The only one I've used so far on purpose is the light control.

Ah good, I see these refrigerators and stoves/ovens that are internet connected and just shake my head. You can control, the lights, heat, A/C, kitchen, laundry, and everything else from anywhere, why go home?

That ice machine hopper holds 3 lbs but will make something like 24 lbs a day. That's a lot of ice, you could rent it out for wedding receptions and shit. It's a genuine luxury to have readily available ice all the time, year round.

Today through the magic of Google I discovered that there does, indeed, exist a thing called a hip brace. Neoprene and velcro, just like a knee brace except formatted like a burlesque lady's thigh holster for her little .22.

More to the point, the thing works. Snug but comfortable, fits under my clothes without being too obvious, prevents me from moving my leg in ways I'm not supposed to. Now maybe my stupid hip joint can heal instead of hurting all the time.

A blog I visit is a retired anesthesiologist who spent decades working in the hospital then teaching at a med school.
. When I hear anesthesiologist or anesthetist I think the 2nd most important guy in the OR after me.
But in addition to knocking you out they are the hospital pain control specialists.
So he said he tried all the over the counter “miracles” with millions in advertising campaigns as they came out to know
what to tell patients going home. They are all crap with some troubling side effects.
He said 2 extra strength Tylenol and 3 regular aspirin taken together in the morning will last all day.
I passed this on to my buddy who slipped a disc and silicone shots only allowed him to get from the chair to the bed or vise versa.
He said it’s a miracle, he can sleep at night and he even changed the oil in his truck.
So if you’re hurting give it a shot, can’t hurt.

The 43” plasma TV in the bedroom died and looking for a replacement everything I could find on the net was a “Smart TV”. They could hook up with streaming services and had Siri and Alexa at your service (listening all the time), they had everything I could possibly not want. A dumb TV, my kingdom for a dumb TV. It’s a 2019 model and may be last of the Mohegans, maybe I should buy a couple more and put them away. LoL
I got a Geek Squad (their in store service guys) service contract 5 years for $30. Cheap but I haven’t read the details yet. If I don’t like it I can take it back until January 14th.
The picture is great, the sound is better than the old one, They have virtually the same TV with all the smart stuff for $80 more
I’m a happy camper except the plasma TV put out a lot more heat which was nice this time of year.

Before I got rid of the plasma TV I took it completely apart just to see what was in there, it was only 131 screws... no wonder it weighed 48 lbs. I saved the front face, what you and I would call the screen, a flat piece of glass 37¾ x 21¾ and 0.115" thick. Likely tempered glass, it's tinted about the same as a car side window that you can see the people inside, not that police and ghetto black out stuff. Also the pedestal base which slid up into a sheet metal bracket. Most TVs have tapped holes on the back for a wall bracket. To use the pedestal I could extend the sheet metal bracket to reach those tapped holes. The TV sits on a 4 ft high dresser but I have the back tied off to the mirror uprights so it can’t tip over

Almost forgot, The new TV was surrounded by Styrofoam in the box with these plastic pieces tucked into strategic places.

Too nice to trash... just like all the other "treasures" in my cellar, shed, garage.
