Re: Russian Ukraine war

USAID, The United States Agency for International Development (UrMoney) announced it has purchased 1,330 terminals in addition to the 175 previously ordered from SpaceX to send to Ukraine. The company says they donated nearly 3,670 terminals and the Internet service itself, although in truth some private donors may be involved.
Normally the standard terminal set costs $600, plus $110 monthly service charge, plus $100 shipping.
For a terminal + 3 months service, USAID paid $1500 each plus $80,000 shipping or $1553 each. France and Poland have helped with shipping the additional boxes being sent by Spacex and private donors.
It's been an important tool of communication to keep people connected with the government and military.

Re: Russian Ukraine war

Ukraine Nazis
Putin's excuse for this war was to drive out the Nazis controlling the Ukraine.
You know, sort of like a public service by a benevolent uncle/god father.
This has been echoed by Putin's fan club in the west both Europe and here.
I read this pissed off retort...

"I need any Westerner who still dares to even think of opening their mouth about the ‘neo-nazi’ in Ukraine to take a good, long look in the mirror. Even if we take what the Western leftist have written about Azov at a face value (which we shouldn’t, because they’ve blown things out of proportion, they’ve talked over Ukrainians warning them whose interests it serves; but for let’s do it for the sake of the experiment), the battalion everyone was so concerned about consisted of less than 1000 people at the time. Out of a 250 000 army. In a 43-million country where all the far-right parties combined didn’t manage to cross the electoral threshold.

Meanwhile, 5 million Germans voted for Putin’s cronies in AFD.
One-third of the French population support the far-right candidates in the upcoming elections.
Americans had fucking Trump of all people as the president. And taking into account how easy it is to get a gun in the US, I’m just going to consider any American fascist an armed fascist.

Any time progressive circles were talking about the 'all-powerful’ Azov instead of the torture chamber 'Izolatsia’ in the occupied Donetsk and repressions of the Muslim tatar population in the annexed Crimea, any time they were complaining of the nationalist UPA, which ceased to exist 60 years ago instead of the present-day Russia with fascism as a state ideology, they were helping to prepare the ground for the invasion. And I doubt they will acknowledge their wrongs now.
But honestly, fix your own shit. Don’t worry, when the war is over, we’ll fix ours, our leftists have actually taken arms to fight against Russian fascist. The western leftist seem too busy continuing with their whataboutism and fighting the windmills of 'russophobia’.
(via ohsalome) "
Sounds like they call left wing what we call right.

Re: Russian Ukraine war

Russians made two major mistakes.  First was to not have a supreme commander in the field.  Second was to not provide supplies and fuel for more than a few days.  Now that a supreme commander has taken control, his forces are now concentrated in one coordinated push.  Decisions will not be made in Moscow.  And sufficient supplies will be provided by a system that has far more resources than Ukraine.

85% of all problems are directly traceable to top management,.  Do not expect Putin to make the same mistakes again.

Re: Russian Ukraine war

Don't forget the Ukraine gave us the best Easter Eggs.
Putin will stop that, no more Easter.  But still eggs to throw on Putin Day..

Re: Russian Ukraine war

Once Russia withdrew from Kyiv and fixed their leadership problem, Ukraine's situation got worse.  But (as the world works) that reality was not obvious a month ago.  It has now started to become apparent.

A new General took charge of everything.  Spent time fixing so many mistakes done by his predecessors (in part because Putin set them up to fail).   He has now corrected mistakes that were violating fundamental military concepts.  For example, concentrating only on specific objectives - one step at a time.   Using massive force.   And has made many limited western weapons less effective.

The west, unfortunately, has refused to turn on the tap.  Too little too late.  For example, Russian artillery now sits safely out of range so as to easily harm Ukrainian forces.  Due to so few munitions and guns, the Ukrainians now need about ten times more weapons than were provided.  And will also have transportation problems.

In part because so many in the west have opinions based upon obsolete history north of Kyiv.  Have no idea how much has changed now that a new General is in charge.  And apparently is not ordered how to do it by Putin.  Do not expect Putin to make the same mistakes again.

Ukraine is currently in a military situation worse than in April and May.  As noted maybe over a year ago, what happens in Donetsk can define everything.  The west has withheld weapons that were desperately needed months ago so that they were available today.  Will require many months to be deployed.  And has not provided anywhere near enough munitions.

This new Russian general is keenly aware and taking full advantage.

Re: Russian Ukraine war

At last we have an explanation why Russia hasn't won yet.
Konstantin Kosachev, the deputy speaker of Russia’s Federation Council, and Irina Yarovaya, deputy chair of the State Duma, touted what they described as bombshell findings from the “investigation.”
Ukrainian troops were turned into superhuman killing machines during “secret experiments” in American-run biolabs, of course.Testing of Ukrainian POWs’ blood, they claimed, uncovered “a range of diseases” that suggest they were secretly experimented on “for military purposes.”
“And we see: the cruelty and barbarity with which the military personnel of Ukraine behave, the crimes that they commit against the civilian population, those monstrous crimes that they commit against prisoners of war, confirm that this system for the control and creation of a cruel murder machine was implemented under the management of the United States,”

Maybe we should claim it's true and anybody fucks with us will be eaten.
