NY State Motorcycles

This link goes to a pdf entitled "The Motorcycle Industry In New York State"
http://www.nysm.nysed.gov/common/nysm/files/motorcycle_industry_in_nys-geoff_stein.pdf

It's 186 pages.
"The product of nine-years' research by New York State Museum curator Geoffrey N. Stein, The Motorcycle Industry in New York State is the first book to focus on the over one-hundred year history of motorcycle construction in the Empire State. Beginning with experimental motorized bicycles in the 1890s, New York's motorcycle industry experienced its golden years for innovation and production in the 1900s and 1910s. The essays in this work mark both that promising start and the decline of the motorcycle industry, when the public adopted automobiles for everyday transportation. But here, too, are reports of a construction renaissance, as small shops from Long Island to Grand Island produce custom motorcycles in small numbers."
I found it interesting, your mileage may vary.

Re: NY State Motorcycles

The article comes from the New York State Museum which doesn't have a secured web address (i.e. the URL starts with http not https). Your browser's security settings are most likely stopping you from accessing the webpage. If on one end of the address bar it says 'Not secure' or has a picture of an open lock, you can try clicking on that to see if it gives you a drop-down menu that offers the option to continue to the website anyway. You can also try lowering your security setting just for this or try another browser. The link opens automatically for me in Microsoft Edge with added McAfee security; so, it's not known to be high risk. Good luck. - Mr. S.E. Xobon.
