    DIY, not Big V's shop build

    DIY, doing it yourself,  can give you an emotional rush, a feeling of accomplishment and independence, the pride in learning new skills.
    As a bonus after adding up the cost of materials, a couple tools you didn't have or needed upgrading, spoiled materials , ruined clothing, and ER charges, you still may break even. That's not even counting the money you saved (didn't spend) having relaxing fun with the family.

    For instance you could build this A/C unit...

    not *my* shop, not *my* brother, but the affinity is UNDENIABLE.

    When May sneezes, my heart melts and my laugh fills the room.

    This guy, I get this guy.  So many moments, he's said what I've said, he's done what I've done, he's bled where I've bled.  What a project.  I documented mine, but not with video *and* a baby.  But, not a competition, right?

    It folds up to save space but you'll put something else in that space and have to move it to open this thing.

    The Greene and Greene brothers architects and builders in the Craftsman style in southern California used a variety of Japanese joinery in their wonderful houses.
    Loved looking at it.
