There are those who would destroy. I don't get it. Why destroy when you can build?

Honestly think it is a good turn.

Really? Because he was a weak leader? Or because he sold his soul to the devil to get the job?
It's a sad day when a half dozen trouble makers can destroy reason and the functioning government for their own political agenda.
There are people, some in the old Cellar, who want their people in Washington to fuck things up, nothing less.
Break the government so a new one can be built. Those people don't have a clue what a dystopia they would create in doing so. But they would be ok because they have guns and MREs stashed. They have never seen hoards of starving people move through a town like a herd of locusts, so they think that's just B movie stuff.

In his news conference, McCarthy laid out an accurate description of similarities between Hitler and Putin. Making the point that right wing extremists want to throw Ukraine under the bus. That would lead to a future and direct war between the US and Russia. McCarthy cited lessons from history.
Extremists do not think logically. Are inspired by and even routinely lie - justified only by their emotions. As one right wing extremist in the Old Cellar said, he only wanted to "fuck things up". Extremists, for some reason, think that is good. Along with sacrificing Ukraine to the Russians.
McCarthy was accurately demonstrating the ignorance (and a dangerous anti-American attitude) of extremist in his party.

It is a good thing that we no longer have to worry that a dishonest lamebrained twit like McCarthy is #3 for presidential succession.
Otherwise there is still plenty of worry about what the "House Freedom Caucus" will pull next.
Wikipedia has a good article about that cuckoo's nest and its 45 or so members.

Some guy under indictment wants Jim Jordan, the ignoring sexual abuse coach, to get the job. It's remarkable how frightened GOP members are of what they encouraged.

Griff: I wish I saw any indication the Republican members of Congress in particular or across the country have any notion of the chaos they have caused and that is going to bet worse.

Stabbing his own party in the back? How about stabbing 8 or 10 people in his party who want to "fuck things up".
For behaving too much like a moderate who doesn't want to be responsible for shutting down the government with a non-functioning House? The radical GOP members of the House, representing a tiny portion of the US citizens, want to stop the government from functioning using terrorism. That group is playing the rest of the rational GOP members with threats of loyalty to the party is supreme, higher than loyalty to the country or constituents.
It is a real threat because the money behind them will defeat anyone who doesn't go along in the next primary where few actually vote and the ones that do are party first stalwarts. It works where the GOP has a lock on the general election. Through mostly gerrymandering the number of truly competitive districts is about 14% so the primary is king.

Similar minority in 1930s Germany did a same thing. What resulted was them taking power - and Hitler.
Hate is a powerful tool that recruits the many adults who are still emotional - like a child. Same mindset justified 6 January - the Big Lie.
