I went down a rabbit hole with this one. a simple hey google how long do $2 bills last in circulation?
No problem inquirer, here's six sites with six vastly different numbers, take your pick.
The sites would be a little shady, numbers from different years, and a host of other factors.
I tried to find reputable sources and matching dates... I found a surprising amount of $100 notes out there.
The treasury has made great strides in longevity but recently I've noticed a problem with the $100 2009 up.
The blue ribbon/stripe is bonded on the front, except there's 3 spots where face paper goes over the stripe.
The middle spot where July is printed on some bills has curled up just a smidge so sliding bills together catch.
The bank and supermarket says they're real bills. I wondered when I read the oddball presses they buy from Switzerland,
we're the only country that buys them... except North Korea.
