Nikki Haley

https://thehill.com/elections/4408071-almost-half-of-haley-supporters-say-they-would-vote-for-biden-over-trump-iowa-poll/

I guess these voters are supporting her now because she was pretty normal as a governor? I wonder if she can win over any of the Trump voters with her current adherence to the crazy train doctrines? That presents a problem for her in the general but I can see independents suspending disbelief.

Re: Nikki Haley

My father and brother both got into small town politics as Republicans, although my father pissed off some important local Republicans and had to win as an independent. They caught up with him a couple elections later though.
I thought I had a handle on Republican thinking pre-trump but I've given up trying to understand their current logic.
Now they seem more like suicide bombers blowing themselves up to take you with them.
Must think they'll go to heaven and you'll go to hell.

Re: Nikki Haley

If there are sane Republicans in Congress, they hide it well.

Re: Nikki Haley

Dad came home from the county Republican Committee wound up about librarians giving pornography to little kids. They seem to target folks in cognitive decline for their nonsense. It's a lucrative but, in the end, losing game. Side note, he has a daughter-in-law who's a librarian but hearsay propaganda is stronger I guess.

School librarians face a new penalty in the banned-book wars: Prison

"...Those on the political right, however, contend that the legislation is necessary to prevent children from exposure to pornographic and sexual content that will harm their mental health and warp their development. In every case but one, a bipartisan bill in Missouri, Republican lawmakers or Republican-dominated committees introduced the laws."

Re: Nikki Haley

Sexual obscenity is exposing your tongue.  After all, it is a sexual item.  So it must be taboo.

All books about enticing your  papillae must be banned.  Only extremists can tell us what is good and what is evil.  They know.  God told them.

Re: Nikki Haley

Joy of Sex must be banned.  Only God tells us how to do it.  No other book can discuss it.  Only the bible says what to do.

We must always imposed the righteous religion on all others.  God said so.  And if not God, then Trump. After all he can rape a woman and still be elected president.  He must be God's chosen one.  Only he is allowed to have sex not defined for all others in the Bible.

Re: Nikki Haley

I might be wrong but, it's looking more and more like Nikki Haley will be our next President. Biden might want to think about adjusting his partnership with the Israeli far right. Maybe our best hope is that the current Israeli government falls in favor of moderates.

Re: Nikki Haley

That's the best hope without regard for the US election.

Re: Nikki Haley

I worked and voted for Biden and was very gratified when he beat Trump.
However, his ignoring, and using our arms and resources in aiding, Israel's genocide in Gaza is unforgiveable.
Our own actions in Yemen are unsupportable as well.
His increasing doddering is a worry.
Everyone fails eventually. I'm a little older than he and am getting familiar with it.
Haley?  God help us.

Re: Nikki Haley

Haley might only be second to Bolton for seeing a war she didn't like.

The House passed House Bill 4654 – removing bona fide schools, public libraries, and museums from the list of exemptions from criminal liability relating to distribution and display to a minor of obscene matter – in a 85-12 vote Friday, sending the bill to the state Senate.

I'm surprised Florida isn't on that list?
