The threat of theocracy at a time when religion is dying off seems pretty real.
On the same day that Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Tom Parker handed down an opinion declaring that fertilized frozen embryos are people, imperiling women’s access to in vitro fertilization treatments, he espoused support for a once-fringe philosophy that calls on evangelical Christians to reshape society based on their interpretation of the Bible.

Bible. A law, psychology, and science book written by people using what little they once understood. Since displaced by other authors who have since better learned god's laws. Various names are used for these corrected and upgraded biblical revisions. Such as calculus, chemistry, laws for democracy, trigonometry, physics, and medicine books. By many millions of god's disciples who spent their entire lives learning more of god's laws.
George Burns, as an actor playing god, accurately defined reality. We are given everything we need. Then we are left to make it all work. Or screw it up. God never imposes a will on anyone. We are given everything we need to make it work. Or to invent lies to screw it up.
God gave us everything we need to even do this.
