Here up North, we like to go play with our Canuck friends and vice versa.  We have a bridge and a tunnel.... but they still get soooooo busy and we don't like all that waiting  ....so we're building another bridge.

It's almost done.

My friend's daughter (who prefers not to be named but gave permission for me to share) is a welder on the project and took this amazing photo.  Yes, I said daughter and welder in the same sentence.  Which makes it even better IMO.

Whoa! Awesome pic. Takes a special brain to weld up there.

Re: 6/4/2024 View From The Top

Now that extremists have decided to enrich the rich, then even tax cut are only given to the richest Americans.  To pay for that, America chooses to no longer build anything.  The borrow money from foreigners.  To pay for the taxes that - the perfect example - Donald Trump never pays.

He even brags in campaign speeches how he does not pay taxes.  Then extremist (dumb) Americans cheer him.

Who is Gordie Howe?  A Canadian.  That means right wing extremists might be honored.  Yes, extremist are that dumb as to be that easily manipulated.  Extremists have canceled major and necessary construction all over America.  To make America a second class nation in 50 years.

Essential were tunnels under the Hudson River into NYC.  Canceled by a right wing extremists.  A major train bridge over the Mississippi.  Again canceled.  Major protection of this nation's water supply and environmentally sensitive wet lands.    Canceled by George Jr.  Construction of Coast Guard cutters to replace many post WWII ships.  A disaster.  Cutter's stem would break off at high speed.

Littoral Navy ships.  All must be scrapped, converted to minesweepers, or sold to another nation.  Designed defectively.  And then built anyway.  Since the problems could be fixed later - if one has he mindset of an extremist.   The most expensive Navy ships (except for aircraft carriers).  All three never commissioned.  Defective because they were designed by extremists in the George Jr administration.

All over the world, even in nations such as Indonesia, are high speed trains.  America does not even have one.

Constellation, Orion, and Aries.  Started in 2001.  Still does not work.  Just before launch, another software glitch was found that would have sent it into earth.  It is now attempting, a third time, to launch today.  So dangerous that it will only carry two astronauts in a vehicle designed for seven.

Trophies for Americans who are not moderates.  That bridge is another.  Built totally by Canada.  Because 'making American strong again' only means enriching the 1%.  Who now own over 50% of America.  By not building anything.  By enriching themselves using money games.

By not letting domestic patriots build an essential bridge.  About $6billion all paid for by patriotic Americans - called Canadians.

If America does get patriotic, a similar bridge will be constructed in Baltimore.

Yes, Canada put up the money for this bridge to be paid back with tolls.
The Ambassador bridge was built over 90 years ago with private money and was mostly owned by Manuel "Matty" Moroun until he died 10 years ago. About a year before he died he spent a night in jail for non-compliance of a court order to build ramps for the I-75 and I-96 freeways as was stipulated by the purchase in 1979. Now his son Matthew is in control.

To do an end run Michigan and Canada agreed to build this new bridge which will put a squeeze on Moroun’s cash cow.

A friend of mine in Ontario has a son working on this project but he’s an engineer/computer nerd on the ground and doesn’t get to see great pictures like this.
