Yes, it's me, the gen-yoo-ine article! Accept no substitutes!

There's an outside possibility that it might have stopped raining by December.
If not, I suggest arrival by float plane and equipping yourself with an aqualung and/or snorkel.
Preparation is all.

While I'm here:

Sesquipedalian

Pertaining to or given to the use of overly long words.
Almost self defining when you think about it.

I don't think I need to use that one any more than I do.... a favorite.

Which leads me to wonder why 'abbreviation' is such a long word.

Re: Fun words I want to use more often (add your own. or not.)

So that one would be inclined to abbreviate it.
Almost self-fulfilling when you think about it.
Even in its long form, it's still shorter than anti-sesquipedalian.

Re: Fun words I want to use more often (add your own. or not.)

Disingenuous - I needed it for a couple of political threads and had to look up the spelling. But it's a useful word for a lot of baloney comments you see online.

Hashira

It rolls off the tongue. Japanese (lit. Pillars). I'd like to use it as a Japoneseism in American English with the connotation that's understood in Japanese manga/anime. Being a Hashira in an endeavor means one's skills and accomplishments are widely recognized, respected, and they are in a league of their own. Hashira has a more positive meaning than the word elite.

Qualia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qualia
In philosophy of mind, qualia (/ˈkwɑːliə, ˈkweɪ-/; sg.: quale /-li/) are defined as instances of subjective, conscious experience. The term qualia derives from the Latin neuter plural form (qualia) of the Latin adjective quālis (Latin pronunciation: [ˈkʷaːlɪs]) meaning "of what sort" or "of what kind" in relation to a specific instance, such as "what it is like to taste a specific apple — this particular apple now".

Cognitohazard
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cognitohazard
(neurology, chiefly science fiction) An image, pattern, sound or any other kind of sensory signal that directly causes harmful or undesired physiological or physical effects to one who senses or perceives it.The symbol on that piece of paper is a cognitohazard which puts everyone who reads it in a week-long coma.

Clyde my erstwhile four legged cat has become a stable three legger.
Usage, have I murdered my cat or just removed the offending appendage?

Since you said he's a stable three-legger now, I could only assume you murdered the cat if I also assume you taxidermied him into furniture.
