Big day

Four and eight years ago (2016 and 2020), I think many Americans were ashamed to admit they were going to vote for Trump, hence skewing discussion and the polls. We know the results.
This year, I am hoping that many of them are openly going along with their friends but are secretly (justifiably) afraid enough not to vote for him.
He will cause serious trouble if he loses, but catastrophe if he wins

Re: Big day

His promises seemingly designed to wreck the economy would seem to be enough for even the most selfish voter.

Re: Big day

But, but, if he gets elected, he could be impeached again. He was impeached twice before, the third time’s a charm so this time he’ll be convicted. As a former President, he gets a pension of about $220,000/yr. and perks worth much more than that. He would lose everything except Secret Service protection. The people would be avenged and tax payers would save a bundle. Take back your joy and vote Trump with a vengeance!

Re: Big day

I voted today.

For President, I cast a write-in vote for Meghan Markle.  She’s.no longer a Royal so it should be OK. I didn’t actually do it for her though, I did it for her husband Harry. The poor fellow was born into the British royal family but probably can’t be King; because, he’s only fifth in the line of succession to the British throne.  Even though he now lives in the USA, he can’t be President because he wasn’t born here. He could; however, become the First Gentleman and then they wouldn’t dare kick him out when his visa expires.

Millions of others are probably thinking the same thing. We’ll see.

Re: Big day

UPDATE: Meghan didn’t win. It’s hard to believe with Meghan being so pleasant and pretty and all. They must’ve stole the election from her. Now Harry might have to leave the country… t’s the agony of defeat. Run Harry, RUN!

Re: Big day

I'm not a complete Doomer about this election, but the unnecessary suffering involved in a full embrace of oligarchal control has me in a mourning period. PA may have lost Sen. Bob Casey, this blood and soil area's only moderate, sensible, and responsive politician to a Connecticut hedge fund manager. I got a text from a cousin this morning hoping to patch things up, I'm not going to respond until I can say something honest that won't blow up. My upcoming move to NYS is feeling better today.

Just say "thank you for your text." or "I appreciate your reaching out."

You can.t have these conversations by text.
