I was in the first grade and my friend Jack went home for lunch and came back saying the president was dead. We got sent to the principles office after telling our teacher. We figured we were going to get swats at least, when Mr Crane came in to his office he looked like he had been crying. We got sent back to class with out getting swats.

Oh, but that story doesn't include the latest twist: After conservatives went all-in on Peanut as a martyr and a "Christ-like sacrifice" and "the Elon Musk of squirrels" (because they saw it as an opportunity to denigrate the Dem establishment running NYC,) they've now discovered that the entire Peanut TikTok account was just a way to direct traffic to the owner's homoerotic OnlyFans page, and now the conservatives' heads are exploding because they championed a gay-agenda squirrel.

Re: RIP, Famous person

Gene Hackman (95) his wife, and his dog were found dead "for some time" .. no foul play suspected but wtf? Gas leak or something?

...

eta: I just watched Mississippi Burning, LAST NIGHT

...

eta: Gene Hackman's death ruled 'suspicious'; no obvious signs of gas leak as investigation continues

Re: RIP, Famous person

"No gas leak" does not eliminate a more likely suspect.  Carbon Monoxide poisoning.  Only indicator (if not a CO detector) is headaches.

Did not know he was also in the Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder movie "Young Frankenstein".

Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman, and Robert Duvall spend their early years together (I believe) as roommates.  And as waiters and doing other menial jobs in NYC.

Re: RIP, Famous person

Mississippi Burning had a stellar cast--
Gene Hackman and Willem Dafoe versus Brad Dourif (Grima Wormtongue) and Michael Rooker (Merle, from Walking Dead), Frances McDormand caught in the middle.
Also, R. Lee Ermey, and a host of "that guys"

Re: RIP, Famous person

CO poisoning was an obvious death explanation. So they expedited that test.  CO poisoning does not exist.  Now death is looking criminally suspicious.

Three weeks for the autopsy results.

Re: RIP, Famous person

[reference in poor taste edited by mods] Now that I use language that you understand, then maybe you might finally read what was written.

It was a joke.  Obviously not about any thread.  About the current state of The Cellar.  It seems people (not any person) must die to cause posts.  I should not have to explain it.

Let us know when you finally read only what is written.  Not what silly emotions order you to believe.  The first indication that you are the problem.  Hateful emotions justify your reaction.  Learn what humor is.

Your post is so disingenuous as to deserve such replies that I never post.  Now act as an adult.

Only the hateful emotional cannot understand humor.

Or you can also notice the first sentence comes directly from Saturday Night Live.   Others understand humor.  You do not.

Re: RIP, Famous person

Obviously targeted is the emotional using a righteous attitude and profanity.   Wild speculation and emotional contempt explains one incapable of recognizing (enjoying) satirical humor.

Extremists cannot recognize satire.  Then use profanity to demean others.  Maybe read only what is written?  Or first ask for clarification? Then stop posting profanity like a wacko extremist or an over indulged child.

Shame.  Once you were a moderate.  Amazing how nasty things have become in the past 20 years.  Even satire justifies insults.
