Human sanity can't survive in a world where anything could happen at any moment.

The Economist magazine never makes conclusions (accusations).  Constantly provides hard facts.  From those, obvious was that Saddam did not have WMDs.   Disinformation was "sexed up" by scumbags and liars (extremists).  Then recited by the most easily duped.

Same facts apply to a coming war with Russia.  Only the most naive have a 1930s mindset that says, "Don't worry.  Be happy.".

What will characterize a coming war (that is all but guaranteed since America provides Ukraine with no war materials)?  Listed are:

Kremlin paid stooges harass European airports with drones, sabotage railway lines, torch shopping centers, threaten defence-company executive, hack computer systems, and spread morale-sapping disinformation on social networks.

More attacks probably exist.  They do not even list sabotaging pipelines.  Even high speed train crashes in Italy (nobody is saying why either one happened) may be Russian sabotage.  Nobody will says until facts are conclusive.

Only those who think "Don't worry. Be happy."   (same people who knew Saddam must have WMDs) would remain in denial.  Ignoring facts just like many in the 1930s.

Researchers from the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism have conclusively identified 180 such 'war' events since 2022.  Those are only the ones that facts have identified.

We know this is Putin's nature.   He constantly probes for weakness for years.  Even dragging ship anchors to locate and break critical fiber optic cables.  To determine how critical, how difficult to fix, where those are located, and how those get fixed.  In war, those few repair ships will become first targets.

Obviously nuclear shelters are no longer sufficient for war.  And no longer will oceans protect North America from direct strikes.   Remember the neutron bomb?  China has successfully stolen those entire plans.  What will be a defense from those?  Military bases (ie Guam and Hawaii) without people.

Don't for one minute make the mistake that French and British made after Poland was invaded.  The 'phoney peace' for eight months resulted in conquering of France and a loss of almost all Britain's army.  They did not confront Hitler many years earlier to avert WWII.  Deja Vue.  Many do not learn the lessons from history.

Xi and Putin have easily played Trump.  Targeting what manipulates him.  His ego.  As a result, America is seriously short of munitions.  And Trump (just like Stalin) has driven out large numbers of experienced and competent generals and admirals.  Since so many have been citing the American military disaster in Iran.  A three day war that will continue for years.  After spending maybe half of the US stockpile, Iran still is not 'bombed into the stone age'.  Did Trump lie?

Even the general who does all long term military planning for the entire Defense Department - each year that next general is fired.  Apparently Trump thinks he is still on a TV show - The Apprentice.  After all Trump has already said he is smarter than the generals.

Who also said that?  Hitler.  Only those who learn from history know what happened next.

BTW where are all those bogus fears of data centers promoted?  Intelligence community believes China has some 20,000 bots promoting the lies such as increased electricity costs and consuming too much water.  Targets America's soft underbelly.  The many extremits who know but forget to first learn facts.  Same people who also said Saddam had WMDs.

What would avert war?  Massive supplies and intelligence so that Ukraine takes back its terrority.  Anything less means Pution will move on; invade the next countries on his list.  We all should know what those countries are.
