Re: A pic most days from where I live

That's a branch coming out of the goat's/cow's eye and the other skull is a Scottish Red Deer as near as I can figure.
Both skulls were washed up by the ocean.

Re: A pic most days from where I live

I love this stone wall, I showed it to a guy in Texas and he showed a stone mason buddy who said it makes a stronger wall. I don't understand why although I guess it would drain better and more difficult for critters to shelter in.

Re: A pic most days from where I live

Does anyone mow that grass?  Or do animals do it?  Or does the cold wind just keep it in check?

That bit is kept short by the cold wind and seaspray.
Other parts of the island are mown by team effort. Many of us have a patch of the common ground for which we are informally responsible.

Let is grow.  In a few million years, it will become gasoline for someone's car.

I'm a sucker for all your rock pictures.

I love the texture and the light and shadows.

There would be none with the stone laid horizontal going all the way through.

But it's strange they cage the stone, not the chickens.

Maybe to keep the high quality stones from rolling.
