You didn't specify that you were talking about placing the slates vertically instead of horizontally. However, that way, the wall would be more vulnerable to things being set/landing on top of it. This way, the direct weight of anything on top is distributed across a greater number of stones. But back to the beautiful pics, I think?

I've seen Crows made out of a shovel, but never an Owl. At least I think it,s an Owl.

Took a ride into Seattle this morning.
This a fair representation of what it's like most days, in between bands of rainy weather.

Posting pics from my phone on the ferry is inconvenient.

When I was in grad school in Seattle in 1968, they had just finished a huge new (bank?) building.
It was rather unexciting in design and was dubbed "The box the Space Needle came in."
Is it still in the skyline in your pic?

Hello DJ
Yes, it is.
Right down at the water's edge is a big white ferris wheel. Moving your gaze toward the top of the picture you see another buiding, white with dark square windows and blue hemispherical top. The Box the Space Needle Came In is the tall dark rectangle directly behind the blue hemispherical rooftop. It appears to be black on the left side and brown on the right side, with a couple of darker rectangles straddling the dividing line. The line is the corner of the building and though it's the same color on all sides, like most shipping boxes, the light is different in different directions causing the effect you see. now I feel an urge to share the "artwork" Bajaboi created on a shovel head. But I shall resist for as long as possible, for the sake of public decency
