Screenshot from Googlemaps, Boonies, Central Southern Florida. We went to visit Solomon's Castle (unusual home of a scrap engineer), and they mentioned the guy bought land and planted trees to create Peace on Earth. So we decided to see if we could see it on Googlemaps using the satellite view.

Posting pics here is way too goddamned hard. I have to have four tabs open, and a blister on my scrolling finger to post a pic.#notreallyworthit

Cover me, when I run
Cover me, through the fire
Something knocked me out the trees
Now I'm on my knees
Cover me, darling please
Hey-ey-ey-ey-ey
Monkey, monkey, monkey
Don't you know you're going to click the monkey?
Hey, hey

If pic already on interwebs, right click to copy image address, just do step 5. Otherwise....
1) save pic to desktop
2) Click Dat Monkeh
3) upload pic from desktop
4) copy image address. Close that tab
5) return to teh cellar, paste
6) remember to delete from desktop.
That gives me a placemarker. Y'know, "Here's where a pic should be, but ain't."
I have to open the image, then right-click to open image in new tab. Then I can copy the image addy and paste it here.
Anything less results in a placemarker.

Re: Everything prior to "Otherwise"
Am I correct in thinking that most sites still don't like ya to hotlink?

hotlinking almost always works for me, they don't seem bothered. I think billing for bandwidth may have changed since those days and as long as you give credit where due they don't care so much? The only one I have ever have difficulty with is the one/one of the social media platforms you are vehemently not on

I mostly post my own pics, but sometimes I post pics I have saved locally from teh internet.
My pics are stored in my google cloud storage and there's a damn process, like Grav's described, to get the link the actual link to the actual file, not a ... whatever. The ones saved locally from wherever, I use the monkey/postimages.org.
It's more complicated than it needs to be. or more than what I wish it was. waaaaaah
