I don't follow NASCAR but apparently they are losing support and looking for ways to draw more fans.
They may be right, the dirt tracks were more fun than modern high speed ovals.

Me neither on NASCAR, so Wikied the track,
162,000 capacity, sort of double a football stadium (1/2 mile instead of 1/4 mile track.)
Says 4 turns; looks like 2 to me.
I'll bet:
"While the races proved to be very popular, the process of installing and removing a temporary surface required 14,000 truckloads of material to be shipped in and out of the track which wore heavily on the roads around the track."

The race was delayed a day due to heavy rains but the fans, drivers, and big shots loved it and decided it will be a yearly thing. They are already taking reservations for next year, send them $100 and they'll let you know the date and seating later.

They are not production engines, completely different design, I don't think they even have any interchangeable parts.
