I went to the walk-in over the weekend for the walkin pneumonia. (sorry not sorry) I ended up getting x-rays of my lungs. Turns out we have one more lobe on the right side than the left.

*as an aside the NP and x-ray tech were really young and really competent just to counter the kids today narrative.

She’s very proud and happy to be in vet school. She volunteered it in a family group text. She’s one of the more interesting people I know.

TIL That I wasn't making it up that morphine makes me really really ill. Whenever I mention it as something I react to in a medical setting they look at me like I'm out to lunch. Currently watching Helicopter medic crap and they asked a patient if they get travel sick before they gave her morphine ....so I googled.... travel sickness and vomiting with morphine are related. I get so travel sick that's why I always drive. Even a couple of miles is lousy as a passenger. I feel vindicated

Tom Petty, who portrayed Lucky Kleinschmidt on television's King of the Hill, teamed up with Roger McGuinn (of the Byrds) to write and perform this song, KING OF THE HILL, on McGuinn's 1990 album.

The TV show, King of the Hill, didn't come out until 1997, and Tom Petty didn't appear until 2004.

In 1987, 17 years before he appeared on King of the Hill, McGuinn and Petty recorded this demo..

The online so-called Artificial Intelligence for customer service at United Parcel Service is incompetent. It reports erroneous dates for events (e.g. a redelivery date as an original delivery date), erroneous day/date combinations (e.g. Saturday, September 8th which was a Tuesday), and is disoriented as to what day it is (saying “today, September 9th in a chat on September 12th). It looks as though someone or something at United Parcel Service is doing drugs. What a farce.

I have notice numerous problems even in UPS retail stores. For example, nobody can print frm their USB device. They now ban that. And the copy machine only understand a few file formats. .pdf, .doc, .jpg and only a few others. UPS software is so bad that it cannot even understand .txt (pure text files).

And then the machine does not process the bill. In some cases, they turned on the AC. So paper, next morning, would bind in the copier/ printer. The machine will not even let you fax out.

And then the employee was so rude as to even grab my USB from me. Demanding that only he can do all printer. He did not even ask.

FedEx understands every file format I gave it. It accepts a credit card. It prints a receipt. It lets one limit the amount to be charges to a credit card. It displays the file to confirm what is being printed before spending money or printing on paper. It requires no intervention from employees. And the people are helpful. In all three Fed Ex offices, things are that easy.

Just one example of differences between FedEx and UPS. An indication that other problems may also exist in a company that was once so efficient. How hard is it to make a copier, printer, fax machine useful and easy?
