I like those bear figurines, very cool.
I second the bears, they'd go great with the ones I have.

I was referring to the dozens and dozens of bear images, carvings, figurines, engravings. It was a teenage nickname that got carried along by longtime acquaintances.

Alas, I did not take any. I'll make it again, though, so I'll be sure to take some then

We had lasagna for Christmas dinner. I rolled out homemade noodles for it on a hand-cranked pasta machine. I also made a pumpkin pie and a bourbon pecan pie. Still getting the hang of the crust, but they taste fine.

We usually do Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at our kids home nearby but this year we didn't want to take any risks, my granddaughter and step son both had Covid about a month ago and while they are well now and testing negative we just decided to do Christmas at our house.
A couple of times I have done the Italian dinner, The Feast of the Seven Fishes but that's a lot of work for 2 people so we had fresh oysters on the half shell and some mini crab cakes as an appetizer and then I made a big seafood paella with shrimp, oysters, mussels, scallops and lobster. So that's 7 although I'm counting the oysters twice.
For Christmas Day dinner I made a Beef Wellington.
Not letting me post pictures, not sure why.

Making a blueberry/cherry cobbler or crisp. I can never remember which is which. I will report later.
It's a crisp because I used oats in the streusel. I used steel cut oats that I soaked in milk until they were soft. I like the crunch of them more.
Cobbles are made with biscuits or batter and resemble a cobble road. Crumbles are like crisps but have no oats.
Pictures after it's done.

That sounds yummy. I love the apple crisp my wife makes, and I think it's a crisp because the brown sugar kinda melts and gets caramelized and crispy in the oatmeal. So freaking yummy.
I would love to try yours.

I'll give you my recipe.
No pictures. a) despite it tasting pretty good - I think it was a bit too sweet, the kids didn't - it was not the most photogenic of deserts. and 2) It's pretty much almost all gone.
I also made "smash burgers" these are a thing, according to the 75inch. It's about 2.5oz of ground beef amde into an extremely thin patty and salted, peppered, garlicked, smoked paprika'd and then fried. Stacked two to a bun. He ate six of these patties plus a hard roll or two and a pile of fries. I think he weighs about 145 pounds at the most.

Not for me, either.

Today I made celery and walnut muffins.

I deleted them. I'll try again another time. The whole thing with uploading it somewhere else and pasting the link here is a pain in the ass. I always have to move them from my phone, so it's just a shitload of steps.

I like that Limey's muffins don't have muffin tops. When they do pulling the paper off makes too many crumbs, these are perfect.
