okay, so I'm curious why your personality took a nose dive-- are you having a health crisis or something, maybe chronic migraines or whatever that drives you to lash out at strangers?

Actually, it was less a change and more of a takin a piss on.
And: I'm by no means the first do so here, or in the old place, and -- I'm certain -- I won't be the last.
I suggest, if you're bothered, you file a complaint with the forum owner or mods.
Mebbe, they'll convene a trial for my crimes against decorum.

Not sure why I'd bother the mods. You're just a bitter True Believer™ who can't advance an argument and can't hold your temper. I just don't see any reason to take you seriously going forward.

You could try to see me banned.

Man, I've never taken you seriously. All you do is nay-say and (poorly) defend the status quo.
Like I say: stockholm syndrome.
So: how about we leave each other be?
I'll refrain from pissin' on your sacred cows and you do likewise.

If Clod banned me, that ain't cancelling me. That's her exercisin' control over, what in effect is, her place. She can decline to have me in her home. She can decline to have me in her forum.
A publisher can decline to publish a writer; a newspaper or magazine can decline to publish a writer; a platform can decline to disallow posts of a certain content or caliber or tone and a platform can ban folks.
I don't get this idea of cancelling.

If purple was blue, that ain't rack and pinion steering, that's partially hydrogenated fat. You can give a dog a a bath, paint the ceiling in your kitchen. An appliance repairman might eat a turkey sandwich for lunch on Tuesday. You're not gonna catch me on the wrong side of the swimming pool.

If that's directed at me: please, kindly translate.
If not for me: carry on.

The problem with extremists. It is always and only about them. Extremist are not team players, Even convolute logic to justify the only emotion that matters - what come from a head hanging between their legs.
Adults think using a brain. Are team players. Therefore are patriotic American. And know the purpose of that mask is to protect all other patriotic Americans. Especially doctors and nurses. But that means being intelligent enough to even know Donald Trump has always been a scumbag whose power comes from only manipulating adults who are still children.
Extremists are America's greatest anti-Americans. Are not team players. Do not wear masks. Except when they try to lynch lawmakers in the Capitol. To destroy America using the same concepts that brought Hitler to power. For same reasons, anti-American extremists have assault rifles on their Trump flags and even run about with Nazi swastikas. Just another example of the me-me-me brainwashing that works on anti-Americans.
You don't wear a mask to prove how anti-American and self centered you really are.
That insult was not even funny. But necessary to protect what matters more to an extremist - an ego.

As I said, defective humans. Humans as a species only ever had two things that let us survive between falling out of the trees and inventing fire:
1. We are team players, and
2. We can run literally all day. We're cooperative pursuit predators. If you couldn't cooperate, you died. The most ironic thing about these "rugged individualists" is that they only survive due to the society they hate so much being so productive as to have the surplus required to keep non-participants alive.

That's silly.
Not a one of you can point to anything I've posted, in context, indicatin' I hate society or don't participate in it, or that I dismiss voluntary association and cooperation. And not a one of you can foist up a single bit of evidence to illustrate any parasitism on my part. I'm not on the dole, I pay my honestly acquired bills and debts, I abide with sensible, just regulation.
My posts -- aside from those that are purely snark -- simply challenge the idea that large, intrusive government is the best or most moral way for people to organize themselves.

What you call me has no bearing on the discussion. You guys tell us that we should voluntarily cooperate in the event of a crisis, but then when a crisis comes along, you refuse to cooperate at all...And, frankly, those of us who can function in a society are tired of your bitching and your insistence on being dead weight when it's time for work to be done or measures to be taken. You seem to think that being an obstructionist in a pandemic is some kind of noble or heroic thing, but it's really just the screeching of an angsty teenager hollering "you can't tell me what to do." It's puerile. Childish.
If requiring that society function makes me a socialist in your eyes, I will do my best to contain my grief concerning your opinion.

You guys
What guys? I represent no one but me. Don't make me the poster boy for your imaginary boogeymen.
tell us that we should voluntarily cooperate in the event of a crisis, but then when a crisis comes along, you refuse to cooperate at all...
What is it about voluntary you don't understand? As for what I do durin' this crisis: same as I always have...when I'm sick I stay home, when I cough I cover my mouth, as I work alone in archives I have little contact with folks in my day to day, I never shake hands cuz I know where people put 'em, and I wash my hands cuz I'm not interested in gettin' a bug from public surfaces, and I'm no close talker so six or more feet is normal for me. What I won't do is wear a mask. I don't believe they work, but even if they did, I'm not sick (and aren't close enough to anyone in the public sphere for it to matter anyway).
And, frankly, those of us who can function in a society are tired of your bitching and your insistence on being dead weight when it's time for work to be done or measures to be taken.
And, frankly, as someone who functions in society, I'm tired of your hysteria, your submission to unjust authority, and your insistence that I must knuckle under.
And: I'm not dead weight, and -- insofar as your crisis goes -- I am, as I say, already standin' off, bein' clean and not killin' old folks in nursin' homes.

You seem to think hysteria is virtue and demand observance of and conforming to your party line. You wear your leash with pride and I'm supposed to do the same.
Good dog.
If requiring that society function makes me a socialist in your eyes, I will do my best to contain my grief concerning your opinion.
What makes you a good dog is your defense of what is, no matter how much what is bends you over gives it to you.
You like it, want more, and are flummoxed cuz you can't make me bend over and like it too.

One more thing...
If I'm a threat to you: sue me.
Take me to court.
Prove it.
Innocent till proven guilty (or, in context, uninflected till proven infected).
This blanket edict nonsense doesn't cut it.

I don't have to do a thing, really. Covid numbers have once again turned upwards, especially in places like Michigan, where your fellow travelers took great pains to announce that they were against any sort of solution.
If the disease spikes again, and it very well could, then public opinion will not be on the side of those who decided that nothing is wrong and that commonsense quarantine precautions are an assault on MUH FREEDOMS. Hell, the damage is already done.
Your movement isn't going anywhere at the moment. Soon enough, it may very well be a joke in form as well as substance. Not just because it's funny (it is) or because you deserve it (you do), but because that is how the universe works. Action/reaction. How could anyone reasonably expect that it would not apply to them?

I do not. I respond to your claims and your evangelizing. I have no problem poking holes in unworkable theory. I have not, as yet, insulted you personally.
