I made these progress pictures
Papercraft Ornament Steps 1 and 2
(left) Print the stripes with Silhouette cutter registration marks, then (right) use a silhouette cutter with a marker instead of a blade to draw (and emboss) the creases in silver.
Papercraft Ornament Steps 3. 4. 5
(left) Cut off the margins, then (middle) fold the columns in a stairstep pattern, and finally (right) fold the rows in a regular zigzag, with fully visible large rectangles forming a mountain fold on the top right.
Papercraft Ornament Steps 6, 7, 8
(right) Pinch one of the large rectangle mountain folds on the right, and the one immediately next to it. Carefully pull it to an angle, and then pinch the new fold tight. Repeat for the whole column.
(middle) Repeat for the remaining columns.
(left) Pull open to reveal the curve.
Papercraft Ornament Step 9, Complete
(Trickiest part)
Carefully glue the opposite edges together to make the ball.

It's a bird; not sure what variety. There are two more birds on the other top branches.

Terrorism is a tactic, not a motive. Terrorists have had any number of motives throughout history. They are defined as non-state actors (bit of a self-serving definition there) targeting noncombatants for the purpose of causing fear in the general population to cause them to pressure their government.

Presumably some sort of wide angle lens effect to get a lot of sky in frame.

IIRC, there's a large solar storm hitting us?
Yes I did RC.
Solar storm brings spectacular Northern Lights to sky-watchers as far south as Texas

I'm not sure what their "Godrank(tm)" technology is based on. "Lucifer" being the most popular Roman god implies it is just mentions, which would mean that stuff like mentions of the Tom Ellis TV show based on the Mike Carey comic based on the Gaiman comic based on folklore based on the Bible would count towards the Roman god of the morning star.
But Tithonus being ranked higher than Zeus breaks that theory. Who mentions Tithonus?

Probably depends on the stubbyness of your arms and pinkies. But I can believe it works for some particular sizes of obstruction, and that it may be likely that your pinky is within that range.

No, but it did end in 40, actually.

Technology & The Internet » Cost of solar power for a home in Illinois. » 8/25/2024 10:43 am |
I was talking about the cost of the system to you, not the amount of money the solar company gets. They get the full amount up front in either case.
But with the tax rebate, you get some of it back.
(rounding the numbers here)
IE, if you owe $50,000 in taxes and don't buy the solar panels, you still owe $50,000 in taxes.
If you owe $50,000 in taxes, buy the $70000 system, and there's no rebate, you pay $120,000.
If you owe $50,000 in taxes, buy the $70000 system, and there's a $30,000 rebate then you pay $120,000, eventually get $30,000 back, and you are out $90,000 total, which is $30,000 less than if there weren't a rebate.

Just finished "Girl Genius: Adventures in Castle Heterodyne" on hard difficulty. It's a hack and slashy adventure puzzle game set in the storyline of the classic web comic.
Good game, some tricky puzzles, and punishingly hard boss fights. It's an interesting juxtaposition; the non-boss-fight sections are quite friendly. You can't walk over the edge of anything, so there's no precision platforming, and most of the enemies are easily dealt with, but then you reach a boss, and it's all about precision movement and recognizing what attack they're going to use in the fraction of a second before they do it.
I watched bits of a couple playthroughs on Youtube for hints, and it appears that it is MUCH easier on lower difficulties, so those without split second reflexes may be able to manage.
A fun bonus feature in the game is that you can unlock digital editions of the comic, and take them to a comfy chair in the game to read them,.
