We had electric mail trucks back in the day...
Didn't work out all that great but they did the job if there were no hills or highways.

So this is getting serious now. My Dad is, thankfully, not on the internet. He is a right wing Catholic because he lives in an extreme right wing diocese, he's easily manipulated and used to be kept out of trouble by my mom before she passed. He was reading his Catholic paper when I dropped in last night and he quotes, I shit you not, Jordan Peterson criticizing the Pope in his fucking Catholic newspaper. It would appear that The Grift™, is combining with religion for a meta-grift. Rogan did an interview with Carlson who is apparently on board as well. crap

we saw the new tesla truck thing from the coffee shop after parkrun a few weeks back. Took forever to stop laughing.

Jordan Peterson is, and I mean this with zero percent hyperbole, literally, a ƒucking Nazi. He's so soft spoken and mild mannered, and he talks a big talk of being neither Left nor Right wing, but if you critically examine the ideas he is mainstreaming, they are, quite literally and with no exaggeration, actual Nazi propoganda. I can back this up with receipts after receipts after receipts of video footage of things he has said, right out of his mouth, while on camera, but I'm not going to, and nobody cares anyway.
To anyone who has been duped by his pseudo-intellectual, self-help gobbledygook, I am truly sorry, and may God have mercy on your soul.
If you were up against the wall, I would probably step in front. But it's more than you deserve, for your part in dismantling civil society.
Maybe Hell is being able to see the world you wanted to create coming to fruition.

I guess we couldn't expect his nonsense to stay contained on YouTube with a generation of folks left to target. If they were to attempt to remake the world in the image of a right wing schism of the Catholic Church our country would be ungovernable.
Cybertruck really just focuses me on what one idiot has done to what could have been a great manufacturing company.

The same idiot who bought, and tanked, one of the biggest outlets for political activism.
Meanwhile, the other biggest outlet for political activism is being banned. Hmm.. wonder if there's a pattern here. Probably no big deal, democracy will somehow keep on surviving.

I wish I could share your optimism.

Would we put lead in the fuel or would we already know about all the negative outcomes for instance climate change?

Imagine we lived in a world where all cars were EVs, and then along comes a new invention.
While reading this, Jerry Seinfeld is describing comedy.

What Tesla has done well, and the others followed, is make EVs a status symbol with a lot of bullshit promises. Be one of the cool kids, do your homework while the car takes you to school, why wait till lookout point to start necking, why pay a parking attendant just send the car to find a spot and wait for a call to come back. Pie in the sky tales to get the buyers imagination fired up.
Now that bit about a new discovery gas engine is clearly a joke. But if something did come along that was a third the price it would sell like crazy. Half the people don't believe climate change, or it's true but so what, just turn up the A/C or heat. Nobody in their right mind wants to be outside anyway the game console is inside.
See what I mean? How do you reach those people?

I don't know what they're thinking pulling back on the supercharger network...

musk is a rich asshole that wants to prove that he's in charge. I grew up with people like that.

He grew up as a white rich kid during apartheid in South Africa so feels entitled. He's also smart enough to get Billions from the federal government as his only successful businesses are afloat on tax money and money extorted from other car makers by the Federal government.

Now Elon's 7 - 9,000 lb toy is in the wild, the rich kids are having fun...
I've seen pictures of a couple painted or wrapped in dark colors like black and navy.

It's rumored that BP is buying that up...

Since GM, and some others have agreed to use the Tesla system of charging, maybe Tesla is counting on them to build it.

The only reason to pay a fortune for the Cybertruck is to get attention, but as more are sold you have to up the ante. Many of the attention whores have had them painted various colors but some have gone further...

TBH, I like the mirror one. Probably the vehicle best suited for that.
Offline
Kind of risky blinding other drivers.
Offline
Magicians use mirrors to make things disappear. It's good to be in a vehicle that can bee seen.
Offline
Probably less risk of blinding other drivers than a mirror finish on a curvy car, which would be guaranteed to have a spot reflecting directly at you, But if you happened to get it in just the wrong angle, you would get the full sun reflection.
As for being invisible, it would be ironic if it fooled another Tesla's autopilot.
Offline
Yes but how many curvy cars do you see polished, not many. I don't know if people are aware of the danger of blinding others, the danger of people staring at you tend to drift toward you, of they get demolished as fast as they appear. LoL
