I don't remember Milka by name, but I looked it up and recognize the packaging.

The deciding factor is that sometime around 2033, there will be more people taking out of SS than there are putting in. That disparity creates a shortfall that will cause my monthly SS benefit to be decreased by approximately 23% if nothing is done to shore up SS in some other way.

It seems like social security will run out about ten years before we get fusion power plants - roughly ten years from whenever the prediction is being made (20 for fusion).

I found a post on the old site from 2013 that marked the date as 2025.

If you owe it in taxes anyway, then you can consider it deducted from the cost of the system.  Without the credit, you'd be paying that much to both of them.

Today's "Connections" is on the other end of that spectrum.

Today's "Strands" and "Connections" on the NYT were especially easy, IMHO.

Well, time dilation will accomplish the "save" part (for the computer game definition of "save").  Reloading them is the tricky bit.

Sounds like several swimmers are getting sick after swimming in the Seine.  Not sure whether protestors are contributing as suggested above (or even if they followed through on the threat when the politicians had their photo op), or if it's just the regular pollution they were trying to highlight, but several Olympians have had to drop out.

No.  Very few Stanley Parable achievements have anything to do with the story.

Also, that room is from the "Ultra Deluxe" version, where "Go outside" is twice as hard.

I finally got the "Go outside" achievement on the original "Stanley Parable".
"The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe" is also quite a good game, but it'll take a while before I can do the same on that one as well.

Politicians are largely fair game, but more importantly religions are in many ways legally and in additional ways de facto immune to legal ramifications.  Legally, a church that starts naming politicians can lose its tax exempt status, but nobody's willing to kick that hornet's nest.

That aside, I don't think that saying that stuff should open one up to stuff like defamation lawsuits, unless some of the "evidence" he gave was malicious lies, since whether someone is actually someone from religious prophecy is purely a matter of opinion, but I do wish that the tax exemptions were stripped more easily and frequently.

To be fair, the river has been considered too polluted for swimming for over a century, and it's unlikely that it will be actually safe in time for the Olympics.  The politicians taking a quick dip once demonstrates safety (ie fails to) in the same way that drinking one glass of water from Flint demonstrates that it's safe for the community.  The Olympians will be spending more time than that in the water, just as the residents of Flint will be using more than one glass of water.  Crapping in the river on the day of the stunt is a bit like putting a month's worth of lead into the glass before handing it to the politician, hoping to derail the stunt.

I won't "to be fair" the idea of doing it to the Olympians, and AFAIK they aren't the target of the protests, but now that the idea of doing it is out there, it's a risk.

Careful swimming in the Olympics.  Apparently they want to host them in the Seine, and French protestors are planning to defecate in it on the day the politicians are taking a dip to demonstrate its cleanliness.  No word on whether it would continue when it's Olympians instead of politicians, but I wouldn't want to risk it.

Probably less risk of blinding other drivers than a mirror finish on a curvy car, which would be guaranteed to have a spot reflecting directly at you, But if you happened to get it in just the wrong angle, you would get the full sun reflection.

As for being invisible, it would be ironic if it fooled another Tesla's autopilot.

One of my childhood shareware favorites is playable in a browser:  Willy the Worm 2, a Donkey-Kong-esque modified ASCII game with remarkable handling, given its limitations.  The handling isn't as great in the browser as it was on an '80s computer, but it's not too bad.
